Wish list written by a foster child in Oklahoma

A non-governmental organization (NGO) with a focus on helping abused children is Dreamcatchers for Abused Children. "Educate the public on all aspects of child abuse such as symptoms, intervention, prevention, statistics, reporting, and helping victims locate the proper resources necessary to achieve a full recovery." That's what their website says they're mostly trying to do.

A young Oklahoma boy whose parents were alcoholics subjected him to horrific abuse before he was placed in the care of the foster care system just had a devastating list revealed by the organization. Love and the typical pleasures of youth were never a part of the boy's life. Neglect and famine were his only experiences in life.

The boy's house was the scene of horrific abuse for a long time until a concerned neighbor finally decided to call social services.

After the authorities stepped in, the youngster was sent to Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, an organization that ensured the child found a forever home with caring adults.

Upon the organization's successful placement with the ideal family, the youngster was informed and proceeded to create a wish list outlining all of his desires for his future home.

Many people's hearts were warmed by the list, as expected. The majority of the items on the list are necessities, thus many people felt the need to point out that children shouldn't have aspirations for them.

Here is the compendium:

As for my loved ones, all I want for is food and drink.

Stop hitting on me.

A home with water flowing through it and electricity.

What I really want is love.

The parents never quarrel.

Do not give me medications.

I beg you, spare my dogs.

Academic assistance.

Decent, spotless garments.

There are no lice. The residence is bug-free.

Put everything in its place.

Make sure the bed is clean by using covers.

I don't want my toys sold.

Received reasonable treatment.

Refrain from imbibing.

Give me back my school supplies.

Those are some great shoes.
